ABOUT OUR DESIGN
“Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules which are repeated without end.”
–Benoit Mandelbrot, who “discovered” fractal geometry
When you set out to make great wine you must first embrace Nature and all of her challenges and blessings. We believe that Nature is our partner in our quest to create wines that tell a story about our vineyards, capturing the essence of a time and place.

We want our label to respect this partnership with Nature so we were drawn to the Fibonacci spiral, a fractal that is thought to perfectly represent natural beauty. A fractal is a never-ending, infinitely complex pattern that duplicates across different scales, created by repeating a simple process over and over in an ongoing feedback loop. Fractals are images of dynamic systems. Some would say they are the pictures of Chaos, of Beauty, and Nature.
These images can be found everywhere from cauliflower to cacti to fiddlehead ferns and shells.
We were introduced to the work of London-based artist Yehrin Tong, who is fascinated by fractals and uses them in her work. When we asked if she’d be willing to create an original work of art using fractals, she kindly delivered. The moment we received the art it completely shattered our expectations. It’s beauty, graceful movement, and strength were like a totem. In it we see our commitments to this land, as well as our respect for the beautiful patterns of Nature.
